![]() We do enjoy a good party game, and Trivial Pursuit Live! 2 fits the bill well enough. But that’s it in terms of modes – it feels rather light on content, and we think that after one or two short games, you’ll probably have played enough for one sitting. ![]() There’s also an integrated Twitch streaming mode if that’s your thing. If you don’t feel like playing Trivial Pursuit Live! 2 as a party game, you can take the action online and face off against other players. There’ll be a mix of everything asked at you throughout a round, and you’ll occasionally get the chance to pick a category of your choice, too. So if you know nothing about a couple of the categories it doesn’t matter. You do earn wedges, but these come after racking up a certain number of points rather than mastering a category. It’s here that the similarities with the original game start and end. Trivial Pursuit Live! 2‘s questions come from the standard Trivial Pursuit categories: Entertainment, History, Arts & Literature, Science & Nature, Geography and Sports & Leisure. On the flipside, we did get a question about art installations in the United Kingdom, so maybe we were just unlucky with the majority of questions we were given. We had little idea about US Civil War generals, or NHL team managers from the past. We did find, though, as is often the case with these types of games, that questions are geared more towards an American audience. Standard is aimed at adults, while family is designed to be easier, giving younger family members a fighting chance. You can choose whether you want to play a short (three-round) or long (five-round) game, and there’s even an option to opt for standard questions or family questions. It all adds up to make a quiz game experience that’s fun and varied. Get one wrong, and you’re out of the game. And in another round, you’ll have to chain together correct answers in order to succeed. Alongside a straightforward general knowledge round, you’ll also be pitted against your opponents to be quick to select the best answer out of a list of possible answers. Rather than spend every round answering straightforward questions, you’ll play through a variety of round types. It’s a shame you can’t create your own characters, but it’s hardly necessary. It all looks quite nice, to be honest bold, bright colours bring it to life, and a selection of very nicely crafted character models injects some much-needed personality. Rather than play out like a digital board game, Trivial Pursuit Live! 2 is framed as if you’re taking part in a game show, complete with a host voiceover and a fancy TV set. ![]() Or whatever title you wish to give yourselves. Up to four players can play (or more, if you’re willing to team up), going head to head to be crowned quiz champion. But if you’re simply looking for a new, entertaining trivia game you can play on games night gatherings with your friends and family, Trivial Pursuit Live! 2 is certainly worth a look. If you’re a traditionalist, then stick to the board game version. This really isn’t Trivial Pursuit in anything but name, and bears little resemblance to the classic board game. It may be more straight-up trivia than it is Trivial Pursuit, but Trivial Pursuit Live! 2 is still worth considering if you enjoy quizzing with your friends.
